Apricot Product Codes

This section is intended to help you identify precisely which computer you have. Your computer will have a generic model name which appears on the front of the system unit, for example, Mitsubishi CX Series or Apricot LS700. In many cases though there are variations between different machines covered by the same model name. The best way to identify exactly which machine is by using the model number, which is printed on a label usually situated on the back of the system unit. The model number consists of 2 alphabetic characters followed by a series of numbers. These first two alphabetic characters, known as the product code prefix, indicate which type of motherboard your computer contains. For example is you have an MS540 computer, then if the model number starts with MM you have a 'Trent' motherboard, but if it starts with MT, you have a 'Diamond' Motherboard.
